This year, the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) again invites YOU to participate in the Abstract selection process for the Annual Educational Conference (AEC) & Exhibition, being held in partnership with the International Federation of Environmental Health. The "Be a Voice" initiative gives you the opportunity to tell us what you'd like to experience at the AEC. Tell us topics you'd like to hear about and speakers you'd like to see. View submitted abstracts and provide feedback on them. Help NEHA develop a training and education experience that continues to advance the proficiency of the environmental health profession AND helps create bottom line improvements for your organization!

Building Agency Capacity (50m Lecture)

As a software partner to many of the largest health departments in the nation and as a strategic partner to the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA), Decade Software Company staff enjoys a unique perspective on the environmental health landscape. Without exception, the leaders in this industry strive to continuously increase capacity… their capacity to provide customer services, their capacity to innovate, and, most importantly, their capacity to ensure a healthy population.

Through a remarkable 2013 program conceived to increase health department capacity, this session will showcase four real-life case studies. In each example, the local health department (some small, some large) committed to leadership, responsible data management, program management, and even operations to eliminate non-value-added activities. The findings allowed those organizations to concentrate on accountability and overall effectiveness, thus increasing their capacity and making them lean and nimble.

Join us as we recount the best (and sometimes the worst) practices found in every-day health agencies. The session goal is to take an inward look. What we expose will be worthwhile and instructive.
